the Walter Tishma Way
Our self-guided package includes 5 nights of lodging and 4
hiking days or 7 nights of lodging and 6 hiking days.
Let us know if you want to make your package longer by including extra days at the beginning.
Each lodge or B&B provides breakfast and packed lunches.
Other than your evening in Estes Park where there is an
abundance of restaurants, you will have dinner at the lodge
where you are staying at or someplace within walking
distance. Your celebration meal has been planned at the
beautiful five-star Fawn Brook Inn in Allenspark and is
included in your package.
Luggage will be left with your host and delivered to the
next night's accommodation. All you need to carry for the
day is a daypack. If for some reason you cannot hike on a
particular day, you may go ahead with your luggage to the
next destination.
If you are driving, you will park your car at the Estes
Park Visitor Center. We will deliver you to the trailhead.
You will need to make arrangements with Peak to Peak Taxi
Service to bring you back to Estes Park. This can be done
after you arrive.
If you'd like to make this a completely carless vacation,
Estes Park Shuttle can pick
you up and take you back to the airport. No car.

NEW 2009-This is a new option for 2009 which will add a day at the beginning of the normal route and a day at the end. The first day from Cow Creek to Estes Park is a moderate day of hiking over Lumpy Ridge into the Estes Valley. The views are from the northeast with the Front Range Mountains in the distance. The last day offers several options. There is an easy trail from Allenspark to Peaceful Valley. There is also a long 15-mile alternative which skirts the base of Meadow Mountain and St. Vrain Mountain on the southern edge of RMNP before dropping in the low meadows of Peaceful Valley. The views looking back into Wild Basin and forward to the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area are as good as it gets. More route information will be posted by December.
