Can I Do This?

Walter Tishma Way in Colorado – Self-Guided- Although hiking on the WTW doesn’t require a heavy pack, it is hiking in the backcountry and it is hiking 7-10 miles day after day in elevations between 7500 feet and 9800 feet.  If you’re hiking without a guide, route-finding and basic backcountry skills are required. Route Guide and marked Topo Map are included with your trip. There are a couple of guided group offerings each summer.  These are normally 3-day routes.  If you would like to join a group, but would like to make your trip longer, contact us.  We can book extra days at the beginning, self-guided, then you can join up with the group.   Be sure to get in shape by carrying a pack and wearing your hiking boots on walking routes in your area. One word of warning. Long-distance hiking is addictive.

Inn to Inn in Alsace, France- This is a wonderful introduction to long-distance hiking abroad. Daily mileages are between 7 and 12 miles in moderate terrain. The trip will begin in the rolling vineyards, then work its way into the Vosges Mountains which are between 2,000 and 3,000 feet. If for some reason you cannot hike for a day, you can ride ahead with the luggage to the next destination. This trip is all about Alsacian culture, good food, good wine and lots of WWII History.

Private Guided Snowshoeing and Hiking-The best thing about these trips is that they’re private. You won’t be held back by a slow group or made to feel bad because you’re holding back a fast group. We make these trips exactly what you want, easy or hard, long or short. Matching you up with a guide and making your trip special is what sets us apart.

Girlfriend Getaway Days- Girlfriend Days are offered in the winter and they are a great way to learn in the comfort of a women’s group with a woman guide. For snowshoeing you’ll need to be able to hike or snowshoe 2-3 miles slowly. If there are 10 or more snowshoers on a given day we will probably have two groups with two different ability levels. These trips have been one of the best things we’ve done. They are offered every Friday and a couple of Saturdays starting in February and going through March.

Custom Colorado Trips- We offer custom trips in Colorado both winter and summer. We can plan your lodging, food and activities which include snowshoeing and hiking. We can even arrange gourmet cooking classes at The Fawn Brook Inn (winter). These trips can be perfectly tailored to match your fitness level and interests. We also offer guided group fund-raising events where each walker raises money with sponsorships. We have 27 years of experience as retailers, overseas guides and as trip coordinators and guides here in Colorado.
